With the current value of the USD it would be worth to fly to the US, get the iPhone and maybe some more stuff over there for cheap. And you could take this an excuse to keep your wife happy and bring her with you on a holiday. Speaking of a more normal choice, I'd pick a new Sony Ericsson myself. There are a few options that are ridiculously cheap (sometimes free with a plan) and are way worth their cost. They do calls, sms and basic mms and that's it. You'd be surprised by the 3D capabilities in some of the low end ones. I don’t see the problem with iPhone.
